What is your favorite Captain Stu song?

My favourite song to listen to at the moment is probably ‘Tempo’. I really dig the horn line and the bounce of the track. It’s got a rad groove. My favourite song to play live changes all the time. It all depends on how tight we’re playing and the crowd’s response. For the most part I like all our songs.

What is your favourite album of all time?

I once got asked this in a job interview and didn’t get the job. I’m going to say either ‘Punk in Drublic’ by NOFX, ‘40oz to Freedom’ by Sublime or ‘One Step Beyond’ by Madness

What age did you start playing and why did you choose your instrument/s?

I started playing guitar when I was 12. I played the violin from the age of 6 and I wanted to pick up another instrument. One of my cousins played the guitar and it looked cool. So I started classical guitar lessons after getting my first nylon string guitar for one of my birthday.

I started Saxophone at 13. When I started High School I took music as a subject and one of the requirements was that you took music lessons at the school. They didn’t teach violin or guitar at the school at that stage so I wanted to play Sax – The Sexiest Instrument in the World. At first they didn’t have a saxophone though so I had to play the flute for six months to help with breathing. That sucked! Then when they got a sax, myself and Clement (Our ex-saxophonist) had to share it for a year.

In your spare time what do u do?

I work as the Music Content manager for an online music licensing company called Africori. I also play in another band and watch a lot of football.
